HISTORY OF THE 1973 1/2 PORSCHE 911T
Late into the 1973 model production year, Porsche began installing Bosch's new CIS Fuel Injection system in the 911T Coupes/Targa's. These models are referred to by PORSCHE enthusiasts as 1973 1/2(1973.5) models with the 1973 1/2 911T rapidly becoming the most desirable T variant in recent years. Fitted with Bosch CIS Injection and the new larger 2.7 liter 911S engine also fitted with 911S pistons and 911S cylinders developed a robust 140HP and provided a newly enhanced, reliable driving 911 experience when combined with the upgraded "915" Trans. Total production of these 1973.5 911T CIS Injected Coupes and Targa's was only 1,944. With this level of performance, 911 styling accented by the longhood, small bumper design (which would disappear by the end of 1973 production) it is no wonder why the 1973.5 911T models have become highly sought-after by collectors and enthusiasts Worldwide.
